BCFC play-off picture

With the final weekend of the 2024 regular season approaching there is still a lot to be decided in terms of play-off positions.

We know the Okanagan Sun (10-0) have clinched first place and will enjoy a bye weekend and wait to see what club they will host in one of two semi-finals taking place September 12.  At the other end of the spectrum the  Kamloops Broncos (1-8) host the PG Kodiaks (2-7) as both clubs look to avoid finishing the season in the BCFC cellar.

In the remaining games the VI Raiders (3-6) will finish either 5th or 6th and  host the play-off bound Valley Huskers (5-4). While Raiders won’t be in the postseason, the club’s upset over its island rival Rebels this past Saturday night may well serve to affect the play-off positioning. There will be everything but a play-off type atmosphere when the Langley Rams (6-3) host the Westshore Rebels (5-4) in a game between two teams that both will move on to the postseason. A Rams win clinches 2nd place and a home play-off game while  Rebels win might or might not do the same for them.

A look at the potential play-off scenarios OCT 12;

Scenario #1: Raiders beat Huskers & Rebels beat Rams by 13 points or less

2nd Rams 6-4

3rd Rebels 6-4

4th Huskers 5-5

*The Rams beat the Rebels by 13 points in the previous meeting between the clubs. In this scenario the points against versus all club tie-breakers kicks in.

Scenario #2: Raiders beat Huskers & Rebels beat Rams by 14 points

2nd Rebels 6-4

3rd Rams 6-4

4th Huskers 5-5

Scenario #3: Huskers beat Raiders & Rams beat Rebels

2nd Rams 7-3

3rd Huskers 6-4

4th Rebels 5-5

Scenario #4: Huskers beat Raiders & Rebels beat Rams

2nd Rebels 6-4

3rd Rams 6-4

4th Huskers 6-4

*In this scenario the following rule 11.3 SEC A of the BCFC rule book (below) explains the formula.
